Piano Frames

This piano was very personal to the family and they wanted to keep it but not as a piano. The challenge with this project was to retain as much of the original finish and details as possible into the finished frames. This was by far one of the more fun, yet frustrating projects to date. I think the final work speaks for itself. I was able to include almost every design element on the piano into the frames, including the ebony and ivory keys. Custom engraved plaques were also made for the back of each frame explaining the story behind the piano and why it meant so much to the family. In the end we were able to make 30 frames from the piano. What a great way to preserve and repurpose!
